The MA(CS) combines sound theoretical teaching with contemporary practical application

We are pleased to share news of exciting new developments at Alphacrucis. Based on the interest expressed by our students, we have been in the process of designing awards that integrate professional skills with Christian perspective and practice. One such award is a Master of Arts (Christian Studies), which we submitted for accreditation with the NSW Department of Education and Training in 2009. We are pleased to announce that Alphacrucis has now received accreditation to directly offer this award. Along with the MA(CS), we have also received accreditation for a Graduate Certificate in Christian Leadership, which is particularly designed for pastors and leaders who have significant professional experience but may not have an undergraduate degree. The GCCL thus has a professional entry pathway for applicants with significant leadership experience, in addition to the traditional entry pathway for applicants with an undergraduate degree. The GCCL is also an entryway to the MA(CS) course, for those who may wish to pursue Masters level studies.

The Master of Arts (Christian Studies) integrates sound theoretical teaching with contemporary practical application. The MA(CS) and GCCL represent an exciting development in Christian higher education at Alphacrucis. We have begun accepting applicants to these courses for those who wish to commence their studies in semester 2, 2010.

Designed to equip students with an understanding of and appreciation for the theological and spiritual horizons of the Christian faith, the Master of Arts (Christian Studies) is a postgraduate award that facilitates the integration of faith with professional expertise.

I would also like to announce the appointment of Dr. Lily Arasaratnam as Director of MA(CS). Lily previously functioned as the Director of our Leadership program at Alphacrucis, and has significant experience in higher education both in Australia and overseas.
